Case Investigators Required
Case Investigators (CI)
Opportunity for recently retired Doctors or part-time experienced Doctors to work on a Confidential Inquiry into the Premature Deaths of People with Learning Disabilities (CIPOLD).
The Department of Health has appointed a team to conduct a three-year Confidential Inquiry into the Premature Deaths of People with Learning Disabilities. This will be managed by the Norah Fry Research Centre at the University of Bristol. The Confidential Inquiry (CI) began in June 2010 in Bristol, Bath and NE Somerset, S. Gloucestershire, N. Somerset and Gloucestershire.
Requirement
We are looking for experienced Health care professionals who have experience across a wide range of health care setting to act as case investigators. Experience in Clinical governance, clinical investigations, primary care and learning disabilities would be helpful. We are particularly interested in recently retired Doctors and senior nursing staff
Background information
There is no set number of hours for undertaking the work. Successful applicants will be offered work on a case-by-case basis, and will be expected to undertake the appropriate paperwork for each case and then to run the Local Review Panel. As a guide, we would expect each case to take up to four days of CI investigator time, which would include chairing the Local Review Panel meeting associated with that case and producing a report following this.
